Hospice Care Support
Hospice provides comprehensive and interdisciplinary health care to terminally ill patients, as well as bereavement and support services to the patient’s loved ones. Patients receiving hospice care forgo curative treatments. Hospice care is provided through certified hospice programs, and may be delivered in any patient care setting, but is most often provided in the patient’s home.
24/7 Kare4Me partners with hospice medical professionals by providing complementary non-medical care. Hospice medical professionals often provide medical care while leaving other responsibilities to the patient’s family members. We focus on personal care, light housekeeping, meal preparation, bathing, incontinence care and errands so that you can focus your time with your loved one. We augment the hospice care team by providing constant supervision and personal care and reporting any changes requiring medical attention to the hospice nurses. Typically hospice companies do not provide 24/7 around-the-clock care, but we do. Our Hospice Care Support usually takes the form of “24/7 Awake and Alert” care, but can also be as small as simply checking-in with you and your family for a few minutes when requested. We appreciate from personal and professional experience how hard hospice care can be on you, your family and your loved one.
24/7 Kare4Me role is not to replace the home health care nurse or medical professional but instead to help them provide the best care possible according to the care plan developed by the care team. Our Qualified Caregivers often act as the “eyes and ears” for the home health care medical professional, you and your family. For example, a home health care nurse or medical professional may schedule a daily or weekly visit; however, during the rest of the day or week, you or your loved one may require additional supervision, companionship and care.
